Is it possible with the Gmail email fetch function to access Hotmail addresses?

I have to setup a friend's Gmail address to fetch her mail from Hotmail, but I'm having problems and Hotmail doesn't seem to respond. Does anyone know if it is possible to fetch mail from Hotmail with POP in the first place and - if so - how?
