I am not able to enter hotmail.com address to my contacts list but my wife on her account can?

When entering a hotmail.co or hotmail.co.uk address to windows live, it says ID cant be entered. This is frustrating as my wife can and has no problem. Once I enter them it says it cant be entered but when I hit enter anyway, it says they are online but it is not accurate and I am stumped. Help?

me too. cant enter and cant upload photo. keep going back to same screeen! really frustrating. and no one to speak to.....fedback given still no change
